'Son of man, the members of your nation are talking about you on the ramparts
and in doorways. They keep saying,
"Come and hear the word that has come from God".
They throng towards you;
my people sit down in front of you and listen to your words,
but they do not act on them.
They cannot tell the truth and their hearts are set on dishonest gain.
As far as they are concerned, you are like a love song beautifully sung to music.
They listen to your words,
but no one puts them into practice."
Ezekiel 33:30-33
_____________
There is a season for all things. A time for planting; a time for plowing. What applies to the harvest in nature applies equally to ourselves; for God has made everything in this world go by the Bible's pre-ordained clock. No one has to tell us when the day is almost over, the lengthening shadows are signal enough. Nor can we miss the approach of winter with its icy winds and quickening darkness. The signs of the times speak just as loudly for the chronology of God.
The season began with mercy and compassion -- a glorious reign of love by a Prince of Peace come down from heaven to offer eternal life to anyone willing to break with sin and accept Him as Lord and Savior in their lives. As the world converted, Christ's reign blossomed into a million churches; Ezekiel's 'men in white' multiplying by the tens of thousands to mark crosses on the forheads of all who deplored the planet's wickedness.
Spring gave way to summer and summer to fall. The Bible's clock quietly ticking out the days of God's age of atonement for man. The offer of reconciliation is short its pages insist, and will be withdrawn suddenly the prophets tell us-- at a time few suspect. One thing, though, is certain, it will come in the winter of the age -- when love in mankind has grown cold and wars and rumors of wars crisscross the globe. In a time strikingly like our own.
More than 300 pages long and containing over 30 chapters, this important book defines and explains hundreds of biblical prophecies pertaining to the reign of Jesus and its passing. Each prediction is described in a way that shows how the two Testaments of the Bible interract -- showing in detail how the old was a template for the new. Each prophecy is clearly explained and presented in a format that is easy to read, allowing for a clear and deep understanding of the complicated mysteries of scripture, and giving the reader a firm grasp of its timetable.
