"If a man calls his brother "Fool" he will answer for it before the Sanhedrin."

"So, if you are bringing your offering to the altar and there remember that your brother has something against you, go and be reconciled with your brother first, and then come back and present your offering."
"Come to terms with your opponent in good time while you are still on the way to the court with him, or he may hand you over to the judge...and you are thrown into prison."
"I tell you solemnly, you will not get out until you have paid the last penny."
"It is said that you must not commit adultery, but I say to you that if a man looks at a woman lustfully, he has already committed adultery with her in his heart."
"If your right eye should cause you to sin, tear it out and throw it away."

"When you give alms, it must be in secret."
"Your Father who sees all that is done in secret will reward you."
"Do not pray in public for people to see you. When you pray, go to your private room and shut the door and pray there in secret."
"Do not babble in your prayers. Your Father knows what you need before you ask Him. So pray like the Lord's Prayer."
Our Father who art in heaven
Hallowed be thy name
Thy kingdom come,
Thy will be done as it is in heaven
Give us this day our daily bread
And forgive us our trespasses
as we forgive those who trespass against us
And lead us not into temptation
But deliver us from evil.
For thine is the kingdom, the power and glory forever,
"Yes, if you forgive others their failings, your heavenly Father will forgive you yours."

"I am sending you out like sheep among wolves; so be cunning as serpents and yet as harmless as doves."
"When they hand you over, do not worry about how to speak or what to say; what you are to say will be given to you when the time comes beause it is not you who will be speaking but the Spirit of your Father who will be speaking in you."
"If they persecute you in one town, take refuge in the next."

"Do not be afraid, every hair on your head has been counted. God knows every sparrow that falls to the ground."
"If anyone declares himself for me in the presence of men, I will declare myself for him in the presence of my Father in heaven."
"But the one who disowns me in the presence of men, I will disown in the presence of my Father in heaven."
"I have not come to bring peace to this earth, but a sword."
"Anyone who prefers son or daughter to me is not worthy of me."

"And so I tell you every one of men's sins and blasphemies will be forgiven, but blasphemy against the Spirit will not be forgiven."
"And anyone who says a word against the Son of Man will be forgiven; but let anyone speak against the Holy Spirit and he will not be forgiven either in this world or the next."
"The tree can be told by its fruits. How can your speech be good when you are evil? For a man's words flow out of what fills his heart."
"So I tell you this, that for every unfounded word men utter they will answer on Judgement day, since it is by your words you will be acquitted, and by your words condemned."
"It is an evil and unfaithful generation that asks for a sign! The only sign it will be given is the sign of the prophet Jonah. For as Jonah was in the belly of the whale for 3 days and 3 nights, so will the Son of Man be in the heart of the earth for 3 days and 3 nights."
"Anyone who does the will of my Father in heaven, he is my brother and sister and mother."
MATTHEW 13:1-58 - THE PARABLES
"You, therefore, are to hear the parable of the sower. When anyone hears the word of the kingdom without understanding, the evil one comes and carries off what was sown in his heart: this is the man who received the seed on the edge of the path.
The one who received it on patches of rock is the man who hears the word and welcomes it at once with joy. But he has no root in him, he does not last; let some trial come, or some persecution on account of the word, and he falls away at once.
The one who received the seed in thorns is the man who hears the word, but the worries of this world and the lure of riches choke the word and so he produces nothing.
And the one who received the seed in rich soil is the man who hears the word and understands it; he is the one who yields a harvest and produces now a hundredfold, now sixty, now thirty."
"The kingdom of heaven is like treasure hidden in a field which someone has found; he hides it again, goes off happy, sells everything he owns and buys the field."
MATTHEW 15:1-39 - TRADITION
Pharisees and scribes from Jerusalem came to Jesus and asked him why his disciples broke from the traditions of the elders by eating with unwashed hands. Jesus said to them, "And why do you break away from the commandments of God for the sake of your traditions?"
"In this way you have made God's word null and void for the sake of your traditions."
"The prophet Isaiah was correct: 'This people honors me only with lip-service, while their hearts are far from me. The worship they offer me is worthless; the doctrines they teach are only human regulations'."
"Listen and understand. What goes into the mouth does not make a man unclean; it is what comes out of the mouth that makes him unclean."
"The things that come out of the mouth come from the heart, and it is these that make a man unclean. for from the heart come evil intentions: murder, adultery, fornication, theft, perjury, slander. These are the things that make a man unclean. But to eat with unwashed hands does not make a man unclean."
"Keep your eyes open, and be on your guard against the yeast of the pharisees."He was telling them to be on their guard against the teaching of the pharisees.
"If anyone wants to be a follower of mine, let him renounce himself and take up his cross and follow me."
"For anyone who wants to save his life will lose it; but anyone who loses his life for my sake will find it."
"For the Son of Man is going to come in the glory of his Father with his angels, and, when he does, he will reward each one according to his behaviour."
"I tell you solemnly, unless you change and become like little children you will never enter the kingdom of heaven. And so, the one who makes himself as little as this little child is the greatest in the kingdom of heaven."
"Anyone who welcomes a little child like this in my name welcomes me. But anyone who is an obstacle to bring down one of these little ones who have faith in me would be better drowned in the depths of the sea with a great millstone around his neck."
"Alas for the world that there should be such obstacles! Obstacles there must indeed be, but alas for the man who provides them!"
"If your hand or your foot should cause you to sin, cut it off and throw it away: it is better to enter into life crippled or lame, than to have two hands and two feet and be thrown into eternal fire."
"And if your eye should cause you to sin, tear it out and throw it away: it is better for you to enter into life with one eye, than to have two eyes and be thrown into t he hell of fire!"
"See that you never despise one of these little ones, for I tell you that their angels in heaven are continually in the presence of my Father in heaven."
"If your brother does something wrong, go and have it out with him alone, between your two selves. If he listens to you, you have won back your brother."
"If he does not listen, take one or two others along with you: the evidence of two or three witnesses is required to sustain any charge."
"But if he refuses to listen to these, report it to the commnity; and if he refuses to listen to the community, treat him like a pagan or a tax collector."
"I tell you solemnly, whatever you bind on earth shall be considered bound in heaven; whatever you loose on earth shall be considered loosed in heaven."
"I tell you solemnly once again, if two of you on earth agree to ask anything at all, it will be granted to you by my Father in heaven. For where two or three meet in my name, I shall be there with them."
Then Peter went up to him and asked, "Lord, how often must I forgive my brother if he wrongs me? As often as seven times? Jesus answered, "Not seven, I tell you, but seventy-seven times."
The master said to the unforgiving debtor, "Were you not bound to have pity on your fellow servant just as I had pity on you?" And in his anger the master handed him over to the torturers till he should pay all his debt. "And that is how my heavenly Father will deal with you unless you each forgive your brother from your heart."
"Have you not read that the creator from the beginning made them male and female and that he said: 'this is why a man must leave father and mother, and cling to his wife and the two become one body;? They are no longer two, therefore, but one body. So then, what God has united, man must not divide."
"Now I say this to you: the man who divorces his wife -- I am not speaking of fornication -- and marries another, is guilty of adultery."
"Let the little children alone and do not stop them from coming to me; for it is to such as these that the kingdom of heaven belongs."
There was a man who came to him and asked, 'Master, what good deed must I do to possess eternal life? Jeus said to him, 'Why do you ask me about what is good? There is One alone who is good. but if you wish to enter into life, keep the commandments."
"You must not kill. You must not commit adultery. You must not bring false witness. Honor your father and your mother, and you must love your neighbor as yourself."
The young man replied that he had complied with all of these, what more should he do? Jesus said to him, "If you wish to be perfect, go and sell what you own and give the money to the poor, and you will have treasure in heaven; then come, follow me."
Then Jesus said to his disciples, "I tell you solemnly, it will be hard for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven. Yes, I tell you again, it is easier for a camel to pass through the eye of a needle than for a rich man to enter the kingdom of heaven."
"Everyone who who has left houses, brothers, sisters, father, mother, children or land for the sake of my name will be repaid a hundred times over, and also inherit eternal life.
"Many who are first will be last, and the last, first."
"You know that among the pagans their rulers lord it over them, and their great men make their authority felt. This is not to happen among you."
"No; anyone who wants to be great among you must be your servant, and anyone who wants to be first among you must be your slave, just as the Son of Man came not to be served but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many."
MATTHEW 21 & 22
"What is your opinion? A man had two sons. He went and asked the first to work in the vineyard. The boy answered, "I will not go", but afterwards thought better of it and went. The man then went and said the same thing to the second son who answered, "Certainly, sir", but did not go. which of the two did the father's will?
To the chief priests and elders: "I tell you solemnly, tax collectors and prostitutes are making their way into the kingdom of God before you."
To the unfaithful tenants: "I tell you the kingdom of God will be taken away from you and given to those who will produce its fruits."
You must put on the wedding garment.
"Give back to Caesar what belongs to Caesar -- and to God what belongs to God."
"You must love the Lord your God with all your heart, with all your soul, and with all your mind. This is the greatest commandment."
"The second is like it: you must love your neighbor as yourself."
"On these two commandments lie the whole law and the prophets also."
MATTHEW 23 - 24
"The scribes and pharises occupy the chair of Moses. You must therefore do what they tell you and listen to what they say; but do not be guided by what they do: since they do not practise what they preach."
"You must not allow yourselves to be called Rabbi, since you have only one Master and you are all brothers."
"You must call no one on earth your father, since you have only one Father and He is in heaven."
"Nor must you allow yourselves to be called teachers, for you have only one Teacher, the Christ."
"The greatest among you must be your servant."
"Anyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and anyone who humbles himself will be exalted."
"Alas for you scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You who pay your tithes of mint and dill and cumin and have neglected the weightier matters of the Law -- justice, mercy, good faith!
"These you should have done without neglecting the others."
"Stay awake because you do not know either the day or the hour."
You must put your talent to work.
"I was hungry and you gave me food."
"I was thirsty and you gave me drink."
"I was a stranger and you made me welcome."
"I was naked and you clothed me."
"I was sick and you visited me."
"I was in prison and you came to see me."
"In so much as you did this to the least of these my brothers, you did it to me."
"You should be praying not to be put to the test. The spirit is willing, but the flesh is weak."
"All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go, therefore, make disciples of all the nations; baptise them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, and teach them to observe all the commands I gave you."
"And know that I am with you always; yes to the end of time."
These words are the bread of life. They are God's own words and have been brought down from heaven by Jesus Christ so that the people who keep them can live forever. These commandments, Jesus said, when followed, produce eternal life.
This means there is nothing on earth more important than the words contained on this web page.
"I tell you most solemnly, whoever keeps my word will never see death." (John 8:51).
"What I have spoken does not come from myself; no, what I was to say, what I had to speak, was commanded by the Father who sent me, and I know that his commands mean eternal life. And therefore what the Father has told me is what I speak." (John 12:49-50).
"If anyone hears my words and does not keep them faithfully, it is not I who shall condemn him, since I was sent not to condemn the world, but to save the world: he who rejects me and refuses my words has his judge already: the word itself that I have spoken will be his judge on the last day. (John 12:47-48).
"A child of God listens to the words of God; if you refuse to listen, it is because you are not God's children." (John 8:45).
"No one has gone up to heaven except the one who came down from heaven...He who comes from heaven bears witness to the things he has seen and heard, even if his testimony is not accepted...since he whom God has sent speaks God's own words." (John 3:13-34).
