Jesus Is King
Jesus has been installed by God as King of the new and everlasting Jerusalem, the kingdom of God in heaven. The following verses of scripture attest to this with such power, no further comment is needed.
"Mine is not a kingdom of this world; if my kingdom were of this world, my men would have fought to prevent my being surrendered to the Jews. But my kingdom is not of this kind." (Jn.18:36).
"God has repealed your sentence; he has driven your enemies away. The Lord, the king of Israel, in in your midst." (Zeph.3:15).
"See, the days are coming when I will raise a virtuous branch for David, who will reign as true king and be wise...so, then, the days are coming when people will no longer say, 'Praise Passover!', but 'Praise the Lord who led back and brought home the descendants of the House of Israel out of the land of the North and from all the countries to which he had dispersed them, to live on their own soil'. -Jer.23:5-8.
'Doom for the shepherds who allow the flock of my pasture to be destroyed and scattered...but the remnant of my flock I myself will gather from all the countries where I have dispersed them, and I will bring them back...not one shall be lost See, the days are coming when I will raise a virtuous Branch for David, who will reign as true king and be wise... So, then, the days are coming when people will no longer say, "As the Lord lives who led back and brought home the descendants of the House of Israel out of the land of the North and from all the countries to which he had dispersed them, to live on their own soil". -Jer.23:1-8.
"In the presence of the king do not give yourself airs, do not put yourself where the great are standing; better to be invited, 'Come up here' than be humiliated in the presence of the prince." (Prov.25:6-7).
"And so the kingdom of heaven may be compared to a king who decided to settle his accounts with his servants. When the reckoning began, they brought him a man who owed ten thousand talents, but he had no means of paying...." (Mt.18:23-35).
"Israel was a luxuriant vine yielding plenty of fruit. The more his fruit increased, the more altars he built; the richer his land became, the richer he made the sacred stones." (Hos.10:1) Their heart is a divided heart; very well, they must pay for it: God is going to break their altars down and destroy their sacred stones. Then they will say, 'We have no king because we have not feared God." (Hos.10:2-3).
"Listen; the king of Babylon came to Jerusalem; he carried away the king and the princes, and took them to where he lives in Babylon. He took a member of the royal family and made a treaty with him...so that the kingdom would remain modest and without ambition and so maintain his treaty faithfully." (Ez.17:12-14)
"God will send you and the king you set over you, to a nation that neither you nor your fathers have known, and there you will serve other gods of wood and stone. You will become a thing of horror, a proverb, and a byword to all the peoples among whom the Lord takes you." (Dt.28:36-37).
"In my anger I gave you a king and in my wrath I take him away." (Hosea 13:11).
"Here is your king' said Pilate to the Jews. 'Take him away, take him away!' they said. 'Crucify him!' 'Do you want me to crucify your king? said Pilate. The chief priests answered, 'We have no king except Caesar'. so in the end Pilate handed Jesus over to them to be crucified. They then took charge of Jesus, and carrying his own cross he went out of the city to the place of the skull or, as it was called in Hebrew, Golgotha, where they crucified him with two others, one on either side with Jesus in the middle. Pilate wrote out a notice and had it fixed to the cross; it ran: 'Jesus the Nazarene, King of the Jews'. This notice was read by many of the Jews, because the place where Jesus was crucified was not far from the city, and the writing was in Hebrew, Latin and Greek. So the Jewish chief priests said to Pilate, 'You should not write "King of the Jews", but "This man said: I am King of the Jews"'. Pilate answered, 'What I have written, I have written'. (John 19:15-22).
"Sorrow overtakes me, my heart fails me. Listen, the cry of the daughter of my people sounds throughout the land, 'God no longer in Zion? Her King no longer in her'?" (Jer.8:19).

"I have made a covenant with my Chosen, I have given my servant David my sworn word: I have founded your dynasty to last forever, I have built you a throne to outlast all time." (Ps.89:3-4).
"I gazed into the visions of the night. And I saw, coming on the clouds of heaven, one like a son of man. He came to the one of great age and was led into his presence. On him was conferred sovereignty, glory and kingship, and men of all peoples, nations and languages became his servants." (Dn.7:13-14).
"This is my king, installed by me on Zion, my holy mountain. Let me proclaim God's decree; he has told me, 'You are my son, today I have become your father. Ask and I will give you the nations for your heritage, the ends of the earth for your domain." (Ps.2:6)
"Why this uproar among the nations? kings on earth rising in revolt, princes plotting against God and his Anointed..." (Ps.2:1-2).
"I have conferred the crown on a hero, and promoted one chosen from my people. I have selected my servant David and anointed him with my holy oil; my hand will be constantly with him..." (Ps.89:19-20).
"He will invoke me, 'My father, my God and rock of my safety', and I shall make him my first-born, the Most High for kings on earth." (Ps.89:26-27).

"I seemed to hear the great sound of a huge crowd in heaven, singing, 'Alleluia! Victory and glory and power to our God! He judges fairly, he punishes justly, and he has condemned the famous prostitute who corrupted the earth with her fornication; he has avenged his servants that she killed'." (Rv.19:1-2).
"Then a voice came from the throne; it said, 'praise our God, you servants of his and all who, great or small, revere him'." (Rv.19:5).
"And I seemed to hear the voices of a huge crowd answering, 'Alleluia! The reign of the Lord our God Almighty has begun; let us be glad and joyful and give praise to God, because this is the time for the marriage of the Lamb. His bride is ready, and she has been able to dress herself in dazzling white linen, because her linen is made of the good deeds of the saints'." (Rv.19:5-8).
"Write this, happy are those who are invited to the wedding feast of the Lamb." (Rv.19:9).
"Then I saw a new heaven and a new earth; the first heaven and the first earth had disappeared now, and there was no longer any sea. I saw the holy city, and the new Jerusalem coming down from God out of heaven, as beautiful as a bride all dressed for her husband." (Rv.21:1-2).
"Then I heard a loud voice call from the throne, 'You see this city? Here God lives among men. He will make his home among them; they shall be his people, and he will be their God; his name is 'God-with-them'. He will wipe away all tears from their eyes; there will be no more death, and no more mourning or sadness. The world of the past has gone. Now I am making the whole of creation new' he said." (Rv.21:3-4).
"Write this: that what I am saying is sure and will come true.'; And then he said, 'It is already done. I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End. I will give water from the well of life free to anybody who is thirsty; it is the rightful inheritance of the one who proves victorious; and I will be his God and he a son to me. But the legacy for cowards...is the second death." (Rv.21:6-8).
"One of the angels came to speak to me, and said, 'Come here and I will show you the bride that the Lamb has married'. In the spirit, he took me to the top of an enormous high mountain, and showed me Jerusalem, the holy city, coming down from God out of heaven. It had all the radiant glory of God and glittered like some precious jewel of crystal-clear diamond." (Rv.21:9-10).
"The ban will be lifted. The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in its place in the city; his servants will worship him, they will see him face to face, and his name will be written on their foreheads." (Rv.22:3-34).
"I saw that there was no temple in the city since the Lord God Almighty and the Lamb were themselves the temple, and the city did not need the sun or the moon for light, since it was lit by the radiant glory of God..." (Rev. 21:22-23).
"Shout with gladness daughter of Jerusalem! See now, your king comes to you; he is victorious, he is triumphant, humble and riding on a donkey, on a colt, the foal of a donkey. The bow of war will be banished. He will proclaim peace for the nations. His empire shall stretch from sea to sea, from the River to the ends of the earth." (Zc.9:9-10).
"They are all of one mind in putting their strength and their powers at the beast's disposal, ·and they will go to war against the Lamb; but the Lamb is the Lord of lords and the King of kings, and he will defeat them and they will be defeated by his followers, the called, the chosen, the faithful." (Rev.17:13-14).
"And now I saw heaven open, and a white horsee appear; its rider was called Faithful and True; he is a judge with integrity, a warrior for justice ·His eyes were flames of fire, and his head was crowned with many coronets;t the name written on him was known only to himself; ·his cloak was soaked in blood. He is known by the name, The Word of God. ·Behind him, dressed in linen of dazzling white, rode the armies of heaven' on white horses. · From his mouth came a sharp sword to strike the pagans with; he is the one who will rule them with an iron sceptre, and tread out the wine of Almighty God's fierce anger. ·On his cloak and on his thigh there was a name written: The King of kings and the Lord of lords." (Rev. 19:11-16).
"Thus says Israel's king and his redeemer, the Lord God Almighty: I am the first and the last; there is no other God besides me. Who is like me? let him stand up and speak, let him show himself and argue it out before me. Who from the very beginning foretold the future? Let them tell us what is yet to come. Have no fear, do not be afraid: have I not told you and revealed it long ago? You are my witnesses, is there any other God besides me? There is no Rock; I know of none." (Is.44:6-8).
"I saw a figure like a son of man, dressed in a long robe tied at the waist with a golden girdle. His head and his hair were as white as white wool or as snow, his eyes like a burning flame, his feet like burnished bronze when it has been refined in a furnace, and his voice like the sound of the ocean. In his right hand he was holding seven stars, out of his mouth came a sharp sword, double-edged, and his face was like the sun shining with all its force. When I saw him, I fell in a dead faint at his feet, but he touched me with his right hand and said, 'Do not be afraid; it is I, the First and the Last; I am the Living One. I was dead and now I am to live forever and ever, and I hold the keys of death and of the underworld." (Rev.1:13-18).
"I have made a covenant with my Chosen, I have given my servant David my sworn word: I have founded your dynasty to last forever, I have built you a throne to outlast all time." (Ps.89:3-4). "...and I shall make him my first-born, the Most High for kings on earth." (Ps.89:27).
"God's oracle to you, my Lord, 'Sit at my right hand and I will make your enemies a footstool for you'. Royal dignity was yours from the day you were born, on the holy mountains, royal from the womb, from the dawn of your earliest days. God has sworn an oath which he never will retract, 'You are a priest of the order of Melchizadek, and forever. The Lord is at your right hand." (Ps.110:1-5).
"God raised this man Jesus to life, and all of us are witnesses to that. Now raised to the heights by God's right hand, he has received from the Father the Holy Spirit, who was promised, and what you see and hear is the outpouring of that Spirit. For David himself never went up to heaven; and yet these words are his: 'The Lord said to my Lord: Sit at my right hand until I make your enemies a footstool for you..' For this reason the whole House of Israel can be certain that God has made this Jesus whom you crucified both Lord and Christ." -Acts 2:29-36
"To have seen me is to have seen the Father, so how can you say, "Let us see the Father"? (John 14:9).
"Truly God is hidden with you, the God of Israel, the saviour. Those who opposed you will be disgraced and humiliated...you will never be disgraced or humiliated forver and ever." (Is.45:15-17).
"God himself is our teacher" (Ps.32:8).
"I rescue all who cling to me, I protect all who know my name." (Ps.91:14)..
"It was neither messenger nor angel but his presence that saved them." (Is.63:9).
"For I am God, not man: I am the Holy One in your midst and have no wish to destroy." (Hosea 11:9).
"He let you hear his voice out of heaven for your instruction." (Dt.4:36). "...there was only a voice." (Dt.4:12).
"The Word was the true light that enlightens all men; and he was coming into the world. He was in the world that had its being through him, and the world did not know him. The Word was made flesh, he lived among us, and we saw his glory, the glory that is his as the only Son of the Father, full of grace and truth." (John 1:9-14).
"The Lord judges the ends of the earth, he endows his king with power, he exalts the horn of his Anointed." (1 Samuel 2:10)
The word 'God' is a title. It is not a name. It means King -- King of all creation. God conferred that title on Jesus. "This is my king, installed by me on Zion, my holy mountain. Let me proclaim God's decree, he has told me, 'You are my son, today I have become your father." (Ps.2:6-7). That Jesus has been made King by God is unequivocal: "Mine is not a kingdom of this world; if my kingdom were of this world, my men would have fought to prevent my being surrendered to the Jews. But my kingdom is not of this kind." (Jn.18:36).
