The Mortal Wound

The reference to the "mortal wound" in scripture comes from the Book of Revelation. It applies to one of the seven heads of the beast of Babylon:

"I was standing on the seashore. Then I saw a beast emerge from the sea: it had seven heads and ten horns, with a coronet on each of its ten horns, and its heads were marked with blasphemous titles. I saw that the beast was like a leaopard, with paws like a bear and a mouth like a lion; the dragon had handed over to it his own power and his throne and his worldwide authority. I saw that one of its heads seemed to have had a mortal wound but that this deadly injury had healed and, after that, the whole world had marvelled and followed the beast. They prostrated themselves in front of the dragon because he had given the beast his authority; and they prostrated themselves in front of the beast, saying 'Who can compare with the beast? How could anybody defeat him?" (Rev.13:1-4).

"The beast you have seen once was and now is not; he is yet to come up from the Abyss, but only to go to his destruction. And the people of the world, whose names have not been written since the beginning of the world in the book of life, will think it miraculous when they see how the beast once was and now is not and is still to come. Here there is need for cleverness, for a shrewd mind; the seven heads are the seven hills, and the woman is sitting on them. The seven heads are also seven emperors. Five of them have already gone, one is here now, and one is yet to come; once here, he must stay for a short while. The beast, who once was and now is not, is at the same time the eighth and one of the seven, and he is going to his destruction." (Rev.17:8-11).

It is shown in the Book of Revelation that the term 'Babylon' is a 'population' term that refers to every person in the world outside the House of Israel. The spiritual world of the Bible is divided between two cities and their two populations. Jerusalem is one people and Babylon the other. The people of Babylon are secular, pagan, antagonistic to God and structured in sin. They "ride" the steed called Satan (his philosophy). His philosophy has seven heads and ten horns. The seven heads are the seven emperors who have made war on the House of Israel. The mortal wound applies to one of these heads. The ten horns are ten nations that come at the end of the world. When they come, they will support the head with the mortal wound that heals.

We will see this process carried out in physical terms at the very end of the world. It will be measured in a relationship structured between Nero and the Prince of Persia. In spiritual terms, we can see it happening now.

When a person converts to Jesus, he is no longer a member of the community of Babylon. That is where the term "mortal wound" comes in. It refers to the death of secular, pagan rule over a person's life. The rule of Babylon dies in conversion.

The Word of God delivered a critical wound to Babylon that proved terminal. When the emperor of Rome became a Christian, he ordered his entire population to convert to the Christian religion as well. That mass conversion made the entire population of the world a part of the House of Israel. With that proclamation, Babylon died. At least it was mortally wounded. There were many attempts made to take back the world from the reigns of Christ, but all failed in most respects until about 100 years ago. Since then, a secularizing process has slowly brought healing to the mortal wound. Today, a vibrant and reborn Babylon has begun to surface again across the planet. Most nations of the world have renounced their Christian heritage and returned to their ancient secular and pagan roots.

This "healing" is the spiritual healing of the mortal wound described in the Book of Revelation.

The completion of that healing process will be made physically manifest on earth when the east regains power over the world and brings to power the pagan Rebel called the beast. He will be a reincarnation of Nero, Caesar of Rome, and everyone in the world will follow him except those who remain loyal to the House of Israel. Then will come the end. The beast and all who followed him will be thrown in the fire and wickedness on earth will disappear, never to be seen again.
